Goth Opera Singer Blows Away Skeptics on “America's Got Talent”

"You are great," Howie Mandel told the 19-year-old, who had never performed in public before

America may have gotten its own Susan Boyle on “America’s Got Talent” Tuesday night.

With his goth make-up and creepy contact lenses, Andrew De Leon drew skeptical smirks from the judges — until he opened his mouth to sing.

The nervous 19-year-old make-up artist admitted before his performance in Austin, Texas, that he had never performed in public before.

When he did, he wowed spectators with a near-perfect rendition of an opera piece, earning a speechless reaction from the judges and a standing ovation from the audience.

"I'm just so used to being rejected, and I'm not really good at anything, so this is amazing," De Leon confessed.

"It's not that you're good at anything," judge Howie Mandel replied. "You are great."

He and the other judges all gave De Leon the green light to advance in the competition.

"America's Got Talent" airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8/7c.
