“I Just Want Peace,” Says Emotional Christie Brinkley

The supermodel choked up on "Today" as she talked about disputes with her ex-husband

Christie Brinkley let her guard down in a chat with Matt Lauer on "Today" and revealed how emotionally grueling the fallout from her last divorce has been.

Embroiled in the bitter aftermath with ex-husband Peter Cook, who admitted to an affair with an 18-year-old during their marriage, the supermodel-turned-actress choked up Tuesday as she opened up about a recent exchange of court papers.

"I just want peace. And every time I have any joy or any kind of success in anything, he has to try to destroy it," she said.

Brinkley filed papers in November saying that Cook kept sending her angry emails in violation of their 2008 divorce agreement and had failed to pay what he owed in child support.

Cook responded in February with his own papers calling the supermodel a "narcissistic egomaniac." He said his ex-wife owed him money and was only filing papers to drum up publicity for her career.

On "Today" Tuesday, Brinkley said her ex-husband alone was to blame for the rancor.

"He continues to contact me," Brinkley told "Today" on Tuesday.
