NY Woman Presumed Dead After Flash Flooding Sweeps Mobile Home

A woman was presumed dead after her mobile home was swept away by the Mohawk River swollen by heavy rain in upstate New York, NBC News reported. Flash flooding lead to forced evacuations in Fort Plain, New York, however the woman refused to leave her home despite warnings from officials, police said to NBC station WNYT. Witnesses claim the trailer was carried away by the waters. It is estimated that 250 homes and businesses were flooded after two levy breaks. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected to continue over the next few days, according to Weather.com.
