Sofia Vergara's Boyfriend Mulls Senate Bid

Florida voters may want to answer their doors this election season -- Sofia Vergara could be the one knocking.

The boyfriend of Emmy-nominated “Modern Family” star Sofia Vergara, Republican businessman Nick Loeb, is reportedly considering a run for the U.S. Senate.

If he does throw his hat in the ring, Vergara would be game to join him on the stump, the Colombian bombshell told People.

"Of course I will help him, why not?" Vergara told the mag. "I support him with everything. If that's what he wants to do in his life, I will be there for him."

Last week, Loeb told the Capitol Hill publication Roll Call that he was “seriously considering” a bid to unseat Democratic Florida Sen. Bill Nelson in 2012.

Loeb, the wealthy son of a former Ambassador to Denmark and owner of an environmental consulting firm, has been with Vergara for more than a year, according to People.

The self-described Teddy Roosevelt Republican ran for the Florida state Senate in 2009, but dropped out to deal with a divorce, according to Roll Call.

He was famously hospitalized with a broken pelvis after a car crash last year -- on the same week as the Emmys.

Vergara is again nominated this year for an Emmy for outstanding supporting actress in a comedy. She recently joked to Access Hollywood that she’s warned her beau not to “ruin” this year’s Emmy after-party with another accident.

An election announcement isn't likely ahead of Vergara’s big day on Sept. 18, according to reports.

Loeb told Roll Call he plans to make his decision by the end of September.
