Austan Goolsbee, a longtime adviser on employment issues to President Obama, is stepping down as chairman of Council of Economic Advisers Chairman, the AP reported. Goolsbee, who last September had replaced Christina Romer on the three-member council, will go back to teaching at University of Chicago’s graduate business school. Obama called him "one of America's great economic thinkers" and a good friend. Goolsbee has advised Obama since his 2004 Senate run.
