Trayvon Martin Marchers: “We Want an Arrest”

The Rev. Jesse Jackson, the Rev. Al Sharpton and NAACP President Benjamin Jealous led thousands of protesters on Saturday in a march to the Sanford, Fla. police station to demand that Trayvon Martin’s killer be arrested. Demonstrators hailing from South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama and other states chanted, “We want an arrest. Shot in the chest.” Marchers are calling for the arrest of George Zimmerman, the 28-year-old neighborhood watchman who said he was defending himself when he shot and killed Martin. Sanford police did not immediately arrest Zimmerman, saying they had no information to disprove his self-defense claim. A special prosecutor is looking into the case.
