Woman Recants Sex Claim in Sen. Menendez Scandal

A Dominican woman who previously said in a video that she was paid to have sex with Democratic Sen. Robert Menendez of New Jersey now says the allegations were false, according to a sworn statement released by a lawyer on Monday, NBC News reported. In a sworn statement Nexis de los Santos Santana denied ever meeting Menendez. Menendez has denied allegations that he hired a prostitute on a trip to the Dominican Republic. However, the campaign donor with whom he traveled is currently under federal investigation. Menendez, a Cuban-American Democrat who chairs the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, won re-election to a second term last year.
