Gen. Petraeus, the newly tapped commander for Afghanistan, would work to meet President Obama’s goal to start withdrawing troops in July 2011, the Pentagon said on Thursday. Obama added in a news conference that the U.S. "will not miss a beat" in executing the war because of the change in command.
