A hospital in Ontario, Canada, is testing a patient exhibiting symptoms that were common to the Ebola virus who recently traveled from Africa, health officials announced on Friday. "Ontario's health care system is prepared to respond should an individual arrive with symptoms that could suggest a disease, such as Ebola," Dr. Graham Pollett, interim Chief Medical Officer of Health, said in a statement. The patient who arrived from Nigeria -- a country now in a state of emergency over Ebola -- could also be experiencing symptoms of other diseases, like malaria, officials said.
