Pope Prays for Slain Kenyan Students in Easter Address

Pope Francis prayed for an end to violence against Christians, and for the students killed by Islamist militants at a Kenyan University, in his Easter Sunday address, Reuters reported. "May constant prayer rise up from all people of goodwill for those who lost their lives — I think in particular of the young people who were killed last Thursday at Garissa University College in Kenya — for all who have been kidnapped, and for those forced to abandon their homes and their dear ones." In the third Easter Mass of his pontificate, Francis called on to thousands of Catholics packed into a drizzly St. Peter's Square to pray for peace in the war-torn Middle East and in countries like Sudan and Nigeria, where Boko Haram Islamist militants have also targeted Christian churches.
