A Chula Vista woman has filed a claim alleging she was harassed by a sheriff's deputy while in the custody of the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.
The former inmate claims the uniformed deputy asked her if she wanted him to touch her vagina while she lay waiting for a prenatal exam at a UCSD clinic in August 2018.
The woman was 9 months pregnant and describes being shackled to a bed in the examination room, waiting for a doctor, wearing a sports bra and a medical gown.
"He went to grab me and I jumped off the table," the woman told NBC 7.
The deputy had transported the inmate to the clinic in Sorrento Valley from Las Colinas Detention and Reentry Facility, according to the claim. There was just one deputy in the jail transport van, according to the former inmate.
The claim in excess of $10,000 was filed against the San Diego County Sheriff's Department and the County of San Diego.
The woman states in her claim that the deputy made several comments to her on the way to and from the clinic and that she reported them when she returned to the jail.

Among them were sexual comments and questions regarding the inmate's mother.
The claim says the sheriff's department opened an Internal Affairs investigation.
"[The deputy] still works for the Department and is not on any Department required leave. We do not comment on pending claims," San Diego County Sheriff's Department Lt. Karen Stubkjaer.
The woman who filed the claim was released from jail two weeks ago. She still lives in fear and asked NBC 7 not to show her face or use her name.
