Sinkhole Leaves Villagers in Bosnia in Shock

The residents of a remote Bosnian village have been in shock since a pond was swallowed by a sinkhole two weeks ago, The Associated Press reported. The pond -- 20 meters in diameter and eight meters deep -- sunk into a crater about 50 meters wide and 30 meters deep. Scientists speculate that drying underground water currents or changes in soil drainage could be the cause of the sinkhole. Villagers, however, say it could be volcano or a cave that "opened its doors."
