Steve Wozniak will now be on Sony Pictures' payroll, giving its Steve Jobs biopic both his technical and historical advice.
Aaron Sorkin, the film's screenwriter reported the news Friday, according to Reuters, stating that Wozniak would be a "tutor" on the project to give the studio technical knowledge and information about Jobs. No doubt Wozniak's insight will help how the role of Jobs will be portrayed.
Wozniak quit Apple in 1987, but continued to count Jobs as a friend until his death of pancreatic cancer last year.
Sorkin was publicizing his new HBO series, "The Newsroom" Friday, when he was asked about the Jobs project, which is based on Walter Isaacson's bestselling biography.
"I know so little about what I am going to write. I know what I am not going to write. It can't be a straight ahead biography because it's very difficult to shake the cradle-to-grave structure of a biography, " Sorkin told Reuters.
Sorkin also penned the overwrought, "The Social Network," (he won an Oscar for best adapted screenplay) so we have mixed feelings on whether this will be a decent biopic, or something with a synthetic conflict based more on Sorkin's life than the subject's own.
