Suspect in Austin Downtown Shooting Arrested in Atlanta

Police say they've found the man suspected of opening fire in a crowded downtown Austin entertainment district and killing a bystander.

The suspected gunman had been previously identified as 24-year-old Endicott McCray. The Austin Police Department said U.S. Marshals arrested a suspect in Atlanta on Wednesday morning.

The man had been wanted since the shooting early Sunday that police say caused "chaos" along Austin's famed Sixth Street of music clubs.

Authorities said he was likely aiming for someone else when a bullet struck and killed a 20-year-old woman who was downtown with her wife.

Three other women were also hospitalized.

A judge this week signed a warrant and set bond for the suspect at $2 million.

Court documents show that a witness told police that the man pulled a handgun out of his waistband and began firing after being shoved by another man.
