Boston Bombing Suspect “Betrayed” America: Prosecution

Federal prosecutors are looking to use Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev's status as a newly naturalized American citizen to argue that he "betrayed" the U.S. and deserves the death penalty, NBC News reported. Defense lawyers are fighting back, saying that the fact he recently became a citizen does not increase his guilt. Tsarnaev moved to the U.S. at age 8 with his parents and siblings and became an American citizen seven months before the marathon bombing, which killed three people and injured more than 260 others. He is currently awaiting trial.
