Cellphone video shows a man confronting a woman who left her baby inside a parked car while she went inside a Southern California store.
In the video, which had been viewed more than 155,000 times on his Facebook page Tuesday night, Carl Paz asks the woman why she left the baby alone in the car on a hot day.
The woman disputed that it was not hot outside and she could see the baby through the Sprint store's glass doors.
"If you have a concern, you can call the cops," the woman tells Paz.
In the video caption, the man claims it was 82 degrees and that the car had no shade. In the video, the man could be heard telling the woman that the baby was outside crying, which the woman also disputed.
"And the mother has the nerve to have this attitude. No concern for her child's wellbeing until attention is called towards it," Paz said on his Facebook post.
Torrance Police Department commented on the incident and said children and pets should never be left unattended in the car. The police said they want to speak with Paz about the incident.
