NFL Owners OK New Personal Conduct Policy

NFL owners approved changes to the league's personal conduct policy that Commissioner Roger Goodell called "significantly more robust, thorough, and formal." According to NFL.com, new measures for when an incident requires a review include: more NFL-funded counseling and services for victims, families and violators; a larger list of prohibited conduct; and at least a six-game suspension without pay for violations including assault, domestic violence, child abuse or sexual assault. A special council will oversee initial discipline, though Goodell will keep his authority to rule on appeals, The Associated Press reported.
