“Whistleblower” Trailer Finds Rachel Weisz Thwarted at Every Turn

"The Whistleblower" stars Rachel Weisz, bringing to the big screen the true story of Kathryn Bolkovac, an ex-cop who went to post-war Bosnia to serve as a peacekeeper, only to uncover a massive human trafficking ring. Making Bolkovac's discovery all the more horrifying was the fact that the ring was in cahoots with U.S. military contractors and U.N. workers.

Weisz is surrounded by an impressive cast of co-stars, including Vanessa Redgrave, Monica Bellucci and David Strathairn, in this film from first-time director Larysa Kondracki working with a script he co-wrote with Eilis Kirwan.

As is typically the case with whistleblowers, Weisz appears to bump heads at every turn, but seeing as the movie got made, we're reasonably sure that eventually gets the story out there.

The film, which made its debut at the 2010 Toronto International Film Festival, opens Aug. 5.
