A woman from the Netherlands decided to honor her friends by tattooing their 152 Facebook images onto her right arm.
The woman, known only as susy87 on YouTube, posted the video of herself being tattooed and the results. She said the tattoo isn't just about her friends, but a statement our social media world.
"My tattoo is not about up-to-date profile pics or fame (as you can see I want to stay anonymous)," she said, according to CNN. ""Of course I gave it a lot of thought. These are not all my friends. Just the people I care most about. I got their permission and they were very proud to be on it. To me it represents who I am right now and the time we live in. And of course I love the looks of it."
The tattoo itself was obviously the Tattoo Artist Dressed in Black's tour de force, and despite what any of her critics may say, it's strangely beautiful and compelling. But would most people honor Twitter or Facebook in such a permanent way? Unfortunately, we think that such a grand, and permanent, statement on society today may seem a little silly in 20 years.
