A burger war is brewing as Burger King is offering a Whopper for a penny for anyone near a McDonald's restaurant and who downloads the new BK app on their phone.
They're calling it a "Whopper Detour." Here's a video about how it works.
Through Dec. 12, those with the app and who are within 600 feet of a McDonald's can get the penny deal for flame-grilled goodness. Once you order, the app will direct you to the nearest Burger King to pick up the Whopper.
The one-time offer is good at participating Burger Kings nationwide.
