Check That Cake for a Jail Cell Key

Inmates taking culinary classes at the El Dorado jail in South Lake Tahoe, Calif., have earned a reputation for making mouthwatering pastries.  They've won 20 ribbons and one "best in show" at the county fair.

The jail's cook started the culinary classes as vocational training nearly two years ago because statistics showed that 95 percent of offenders could not find jobs once they were released. The program was developed in conjunction with the local community college system.

The Sacramento Bee http://www.sacbee.com/topstories/story/1663447.html?mi_rss=Top%20Stories said the tongue-in-cheek motto for the culinary arts training program is, It's so good, it's a crime."
