Police say they encountered a case of grand theft go-kart Sunday night in San Bernardino when they arrested a man who was caught driving a miniature racing car that was stolen from a nearby amusement park.
San Bernardino Police Department's Lt. Vicki Cervantes said that the man was harassing security guards as he raced the go-kart around the parking lot of a downtown San Bernardino movie theater in the light blue cart.
Two hours earlier, the vehicle was reportedly stolen from a fenced area of Splash Kingdom, a water park in Redlands located six miles away.
It was not immediately clear how he removed the cart from the park.
Jeremiah Gerky, 29, was arrested on suspicion of grand theft. He was booked into West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga, with a bail set at $50,000.
