“Super Spud” Weighs 22 Pounds

TYRE, Lebanon -- Just call it "Super Spud." A farmer in Lebanon has grown what could be the world's biggest potato.

Khalil Semhat said his giant vegetable weighs just over 22 pounds. That's more than three times heavier than the current Guinness World Record holder, a seven pounder that cropped up in the British Isles.

The Lebanese farmer said he did not use any chemicals or fertilizer to grow his prized potato. No word on if it will just be kept for show or end up mashed, fried on baked on a dinner table.
