An apartment complex in Orange County was evacuated after a construction crew ruptured a large water main Monday morning.
Three buildings in the Rancho Alisal apartment complex were cleared when a six-inch water main was busted and created a large underground sinkhole nearby.
The complex is located in the 1300 block of Packenter Lane in Tustin, according to the Orange County Fire Authority.
Thousands of gallons of water per minute was released following the water main break. The flow of water was quickly stopped but water throughout the complex was shut off.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
Scattered showers were reported early Monday across a widespread area in Southern California, including the San Fernando Valley. The showers followed a day of heavy rainfall in the Inland Empire that led to eight people being rescued in the Riverside County.
