Teens Thrown From SUV in Palmdale Crash, Only Suffer Minor Injuries

Amazingly, the occupants only suffered minor injuries.

A mother and her four kids were sent to the hospital after two teens were thrown from the SUV Wednesday night in Palmdale.

Witnesses said it was incredible that the teens escaped the crash with minor injuries at 37th Street and Palmdale Boulevard.

One of the cars in the crash spun out and struck a fire hydrant, sending water spraying the area. The other car flipped.

Palmdale sheriffs said the mother and her children were stopped, waiting to turn when they were hit by a speeding Honda Prelude.

The two teens were thrown from the car, authorities said.

A 5-year-old and 9-year-old also in the SUV only suffered minor injuries.

A witness said the driver of the prelude was driving at very high speeds before the crash.

The 22-year-old driver of the Prelude suffered only minor injuries as well after the car flipped.

The driver told police he was going about 70 miles per hour.

Alcohol was not a factor in the crash, Palmdale sheriffs said.
