Police Looking For Surveillance Video of Hit-And-Run Crash That Seriously Injured Man

The driver, who was wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans, ran from the scene after the crash

Police are hoping surveillance video of a hit-and-run crash that seriously injured a man in Garden Grove Monday evening will show images of the driver that fled the scene.

Son Duong, 43, was hit by a white Ford Excursion at the intersection of Garden Grove Boulevard and Benton Way at about 9:30 p.m, a Garden Grove Police Department spokesman said.

After striking Duong, the SUV continued travelling across the sidewalk before crashing into a beauty store on the 10700 block of Garden Grove Boulevard, causing major damage. The property has since been red-tagged by a building inspector.

The driver was last seen running from the scene wearing a grey-hooded sweatshirt.

Officers checked with the owner of the SUV, who told them the truck was stolen but the theft was not reported at the time of the crash.

Duong's family wants the driver to turn himself in.

Duong remains in serious but stable condition at the University of California, Irvine Medical Center.
