Person In Custody In Connection With Online Threats Made Against San Dimas Student

A person has been taken into custody in connection with online threats made against a San Dimas student.

The girl, who is under 18-years-old, was kept home from lessons while the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department investigated the chilling messages sent via Instagram.

A LASD spokesman said the the case will be submitted to the juvenile court for "charges to follow," however no further details were released on the suspect.

One anonymous posting warned the student, "This is your last week. Time's up!!" Another had a photo of the girl with the caption, "That smile! I can't wait until it's just blood and tears!"

Security was also increased at Lone Hill Middle School, where she is a student, and near her home.

Students had reported the threats to school administrators, a Bonita Unified School District assistant superintendent previously said.

Instagram had been cooperating with the investigation, a LASD spokesman said.
