Authorities Thursday sought the identity and whereabouts of a man described as a person of interest in the investigation of a sexual assault of a 9-year-old boy at the Puente Hills Mall in Industry.
The boy reported that he was inappropriately touched about 6:50 p.m. Friday by a man at the mall located in the 1600 block of South Azusa Avenue, according to Deputy Trina Schrader of the Sheriff's Information Bureau.
"The assault was reported to mall security shortly after the incident
occurred,'' Schrader said.
The person of interest, who was captured on security video, is described as an Hispanic man who is 35-40 years old, 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall, clean-shaven with black and gray hair that is thinning on top. He was wearing a blue shirt.
