Pipe Bomb Explodes in Anaheim Neighborhood

A pipe bomb exploded in an Anaheim neighborhood on Easter Sunday, police confirmed.

The explosion rocked the 700 block of Anaheim Boulevard at 2:30 p.m.

No one was hurt, nor struck by shrapnel.

The bomb squad responded to the blast that punched a hole through an alley wall.

The explosion also set off all car alarms on the side of the street next to the alley.

"It was very loud and I could feel it shake my windows," Katie Cram said.

The bomb squad collected pieces of debris for a follow-up investigation.

"That fence was 40 feet south of the explosion," Daron Wyatt of Anaheim police said. "Could have done some serious damage."

It wasn't clear who set it off or why.
