Plaque Memorializing Fiery FedEx Truck, Tour Bus Crash Debuts

A plaque memorializing the 10 lives lost during a fiery collision between a FedEx truck and tour bus in Northern California debuted Friday, exactly one year after the crash.

The grandmother of one of the victims funded the plaque but has yet to find a home for it. Her grandson Michael Myvett died alongside his fiance, both of which were chaperons for a group of high school students headed for a tour of Humboldt University.

Swallowing back tears, Loyd said," One day I'll get a chance to see both of them." She hoped the plaque would find a resting place as the Los Angeles Union Station, where the fatal trip started. As of now, where the plaque would remain was uncertain.

"Once they do make a request, if it gets on the agenda, then the board members will handle it pretty quickly," Paul Gonzales said, a MTA spokesman.

Along with the victims of the collision, most of which were high schools students, the first responders who helped save the lives of many more crash victims were also included on the plaque.
