Police Asking for Help in ID'ing Victim of Possible Kidnapping

The possible kidnapping was caught on video by a nearby surveillance camera

Police were asking for the public's help Monday in locating and identifying the victim of a possible kidnapping.

The incident was caught on video in South Los Angeles by a nearby surveillance camera on Sunday. Witnesses say shortly before midnight, a driver in a light gray four-door sedan drove westbound on 79th Street, reversed and stopped.

The driver -- described as a male Hispanic in his 20s -- can be seen exiting the car. He then approaches a woman walking eastbound on the sidewalk.

Video shows the man grab the woman and carry her to the car. He opens the door and puts her inside. At one point, the woman exits the vehicle, but then someone pulls her back inside. Witnesses said there may have been a second suspect inside the vehicle.

The getaway car -- possibly a Chrysler 200 -- was last seen driving westbound on 79th Street. Witnesses told police that the car had a Texas license plate. The first three numbers were possibly "763."

The suspect is described as a male Hispanic in his 20s, standing about 6 feet tall and weighing 200 pounds, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Anyone with information is asked to call the LAPD at 323-786-5447.
