Police Looking for More Victims of Alleged Pimp Who Targeted Minors

Police said man trafficked, forced two underage girls into prostitution

LAPD was seeking more potential victims Wednesday of a pimp who targeted two underage girls, police said.

Huston Hughes of Compton was convicted of human trafficking and pimping two girls under the age of 16, according to a news release.

Police said Huston, 27, "enticed and persuaded" the victims while in the Los Angeles area between 2013 and 2014. Huston allegedly forced the girls into prostitution in Los Angeles and Pomona. Huston also sexually assaulted the girls multiple times over a period of five months, the news release said.

Police said Hughes also used social media websites to sexually exploit the two victims.

On one occasion, Hughes physically assaulted one of the girls because he believed she did not earn enough money for him as a prostitute. One of the victims was able to escape and report Hughes to LAPD, the news release said.

On Tuesday, LAPD's Operations South Bureau Human Trafficking Task Force concluded a 20-month investigation into the case involving the two victims.

Hughes pleaded guilty to human trafficking of a minor and will be required to register as a sex offender, the news release said.
