Body of Man Found Inside SUV in Los Feliz

A tow-truck driver who says he often stands in the area said a homless man came to him and said a body was inside a car.

Police confirmed the body of a man was found in a parked car in Los Feliz on Friday.

Officers responded to reports of a possible body in a car and found a man who was unconscious and not breathing inside a vehicle in the 3200 block of Hyperion Avenue about 11:36 a.m., the Los Angeles Police Department said.

A tow-truck driver who says he often stands in the area said a homless man came to him and said a body was inside a car.

"I went to check it out, tried to knock on the window but nobody was moving in there," said Robert Kaufner. "You could see like a foot sticking out so we knew something like a body was in there...it was crazy."

The body was found inside a maroon-colored Kia Sorento that had a parking ticket on its windshield.

Kaufner said he remembered seeing a vehicle for a few days.

The identity of the man has not yet been released.
