One Dead in Double Shooting in South Los Angeles

Two men were shot, one of them fatally, Tuesday night on a street in an unincorporated area bordering South Los Angeles.

The shooting took place about 7:40 p.m. in the 1100 block of West 110th Street, one block west of Vermont Avenue, sheriff's Sgt. Bob Boese said.

One of the men died at the scene. The other man was taken to a hospital for treatment of his gunshot wounds, Boese said. His condition was unknown. The deceased's name was withheld pending notification of next of kin.

A motive for the shootings was unknown. No suspect description was immediately available.
