Officers fired shots at a man who barricaded himself in a Hollywood residence, but the man was not struck and was taken into custody early Saturday.
The incident began at 4:50 p.m. Friday when an assault with a deadly weapon was reported in the 5600 block of Fernwood Avenue, near the Hollywood (101) Freeway, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Responding officers encountered a barricaded man and a SWAT team was requested at the scene, police said.
