Cellphone Found Recording in Adult Restroom at Day Care on Universal Lot

A preschool teacher was out of a job after he was accused of secretly videotaping a woman using an adult restroom at a third-party vendor day care on the NBC Universal lot.

The LAPD's Robbery-Homicide Division Thursday said it is conducting an investigation into the accusations.

A woman was using a restroom on Wednesday when she noticed that she was being recorded by a cellphone left in the restroom, Los Angeles police said.

The woman notified her supervisor and the man was detained, but not arrested.

Parents were notified that a cellphone was found in the adult bathroom and left recording. It was later tracked back to the preschool teacher.

"Our families and our staff are our primary concern and we will support them during this sensitive time. As always, we will keep staff and families at the center informed as we learn more," a Bright Horizons spokesperson said in a statement.

NBC4 employees have access to the child care center that is on the Universal Studios lower lot.

Detectives from the LAPD's Robbery-Homicide Division's Special Assault Division asked anyone with information regarding the incident to call them at (213) 486-6910.
