LA Pride Festival Over Capacity in WeHo, Gets Locked Down

2018 LA Pride hits capacity and shuts entry

The LA Pride Festival, which was meant to run from 12 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Saturday in West Hollywood, got shut down early when the street party hit capacity at approximately 10 p.m.

Even people with tickets were not allowed into the open air street party, and the police responded with a a large presence to avoid potential ugly scenes in the streets. Those that were inside the venue and exited, also, were not allowed to return to the party per the LA County Sheriff's Department.

The LA Pride Festival is a two-day event that is meant to run before and after Sunday's LA Pride Parade in West Hollywood.

A large crowd gathered at the will call window after authorities stopped allowing ticket holders into the venue, but law enforcement soon cleared the area and put up barriers to prevent access to that area, as well.
