The 26-year-old rapper, whose real name is Malcolm McCormick, was released from jail early Thursday

Rapper Mac Miller was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving Thursday following a single-vehicle crash involving a Mercedes G-Class sport utility vehicle in the Hollywood Hills area, police said.

The 26-year-old rapper, whose real name is Malcolm McCormick, was taken into custody after he allegedly left the scene of the crash, which occurred about 12:50 a.m. near Fryman and Brookdale roads, the Los Angeles Police Department reported.

According to the LAPD, the vehicle went over a curb and struck a power pole, and McCormick and his two passengers allegedly got out and ran off. Video showed the power pole leaning on utility lines above the road.

McCormick was booked on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, with bail set at $15,000, police said. He was released Thursday morning, according to jail records from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
