Rapper Too Short Arrested for Possession of a Loaded Handgun

A  rapper was arrested at the Burbank Airport Thursday for possessing a loaded handgun, police said.

Todd Anthony Shaw, 48, known as the rapper Too Short, was going through a checkpoint at the airport Wednesday afternoon when a TSA employee noticed a handgun in a carryon bag.

According to police, Shaw left the concourse without his belongings before he could be detained. Shaw then returned to the airport Thursday with an attorney. He was cited and released for possessing a loaded handgun in a public place, police said.

 The Los Angeles-born, Oakland-bred rapper is best known for hits "The Ghetto" and "Blow the Whistle" and is considered a pioneer of West Coast hip-hop and an institution in the Bay Area hip-hop scene.

Shaw is scheduled to appear in court Nov. 3.
