Officials responded to reports of a suspicious package near the downtown Los Angeles Edward R. Roybal Federal Building.
A call came in at 12:55 p.m. reporting the package at 300 N. Los Angeles Street, a spokesperson from the Los Angeles Police Department said.
Officials later determined the package was not a threat to the public, a spokesperson from the LAPD said.

Part of the southbound 101 Freeway and off ramp at Los Angeles Street was closed during the investigation.
The freeway and off ramp were later reopend.
