A woman was hospitalized Friday morning after being struck by a school bus in the Antelope Valley north of Los Angeles.
The pedestrian was struck in the 12500 block of East Avenue V-10 in the Littlerock area. Initial reports indicated the victim was a teen, but NBC4 later confirmed with investigators that she is a 23-year-old woman.
She was hospitalized in critical condition.
Students remained on the bus, headed to Littlerock High School, during the investigation. No students were injured.
"I obviously freaked out," said student Jade Hernandez. "She said we hit and person, and that's not something you take lightly."
Details about what led up to the crash were not immediately available.
