Los Angeles police were investigating the death of a law enforcement officer whose body was found Sunday at an elementary school in the Hollywood Hills.
The school district sergeant was found about 4:15 p.m. at or near Valley View elementary school at 6921 Woodrow Wilson Drive, according to police.
Although Valley View Elementary is in the Los Angeles Unified School District, it hasn't been confirmed that the deceased officer was a member of the LAUSD police force.
A LAPD desk officer said the death is being investigated as a possible suicide, but the cause of death has not been revealed by authorities.
The officer's identity was withheld pending notification of kin.
Police have closed streets around the school for the investigation.
