Three Men Arrested in Perris Armed Robbery

A trio of suspected armed robbers were arrested Tuesday afternoon in a Perris neighborhood after one evaded investigators for several hours and one of his alleged co-conspirators was shot by a sheriff's deputy.

Three men were involved in an armed robbery at a recycling business near the intersection of North Perris Boulevard and Orange Avenue shortly before 11 a.m., deputies said.

"I was working inside," said Oscar Alanis. "When one guy go inside with cover on his face, glasses and hat."

Alanis said the robber was with another man and one of them held a knife to him.

"They started asking me for the money, they got the money, go out and they left."

Alanis called 911 and within minutes, Riverside County Sheriff's deputies spotted the suspect's white Ford Explorer.

An altercation ensued, and the officer shot the driver of the SUV, deputies said. The two passengers jumped out and ran. One man was found a few blocks away.

The third man was arrested after 4 p.m., hiding not far from where the SUV had stopped on Dolphin Drive.

The driver is expected to survive his injuries.
