Search Warrant Leads to 2 Arrests, Seizure of Multiple Weapons, Ammunition

An ex-con and his wife are in custody, facing possible weapons and child endangerment charges, Long Beach police reported Wednesday.

James Harvey, 41, and his 37-year-old wife, City, were arrested Monday around 8 p.m. at a residence in the 6400 block of Atlantic Avenue after Long Beach police and California Department of Justice officers served a search warrant, according to the LBPD.

Detectives recovered two assault rifles, a .22 caliber rifle, two handguns, multiple gun parts, magazines and ammunition, the LBPD reported.

Harvey was booked on suspicion of being an ex-felon in possession of a firearm, child endangerment and unlawful possession of ammunition. Harvey has a felony conviction in North Carolina, according to police, who had no information on that crime.

City Harvey was booked on suspicion of giving a firearm to a prohibited possessor and child endangerment, police said.

The couple's 22-month-old child was taken into protective custody by the Los Angeles County Department of Child and Family Services, according to the LBPD.

James and City Harvey were each being held in lieu of $100,000 bail, according to jail records.

Anyone with information on the Harveys was asked call LBPD Detective Joe Pirooz at (562) 570-7370 or Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS. All tips can be made anonymously.
