Deputies took one man into custody after searching an East LA neighborhood late Saturday night after a shooting involving sheriff's deputies, officials said.
The California Highway Patrol closed the 5 Freeway exit at Ditman Avenue as deputies focused their search near Laguna Park at Whittier Boulevard and Alma Avenue, Los Angeles County sheriff's officials said.
The shooting took place near Indiana and 6th avenues. Details regarding the shooting were not immediately available, but a sheriff's department spokesman said no one was injured.
