Suspect Caught After Causing Sheriff's Deputy to Crash in Compton

A man who allegedly fled the scene after causing a deputy's patrol car to crash in Compton early Wednesday has been arrested.

The incident occurred near the intersection of Compton Boulevard and Wilmington Avenue in Compton at around 2 a.m, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

The lawman attempted to avoid a crash with the suspect and lost control of his car, which caused him to crash into a fence and business sign. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment, but has since been released.

The suspect was detained at the scene, but during the investigation he managed to escape. He was apprehended again just minutes later.

The driver's identity has not been released.
