An officer-involved shooting occurred Thursday afternoon in South Los Angeles when authorities were investigating a reported shooting in the area.
Just after 2:30 p.m. officers from the Los Angeles Police Department Southeast Station made contact with a person of interest in connection with a reported shooting near 91st Street and Central Avenue, Sgt. Ruben Vega said, of the LAPD.
Authorities followed the suspect and subsequently shot at the person.
Details surrounding the circumstances that prompted officers to open fire were not immediately available.
The condition of the suspect was unknown.
No officers were injured during the incident.
