Shooter on the Run After Killing Man in Santa Ana Townhome Carport

The attacker left the scene in the victim's car, a silver 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer

A man in his 20s was shot and killed early Friday in the carport of a Santa Ana townhome.

The shooting was reported just before 5 a.m. in the 2800 block of North Bristol Street, located south of the 22 Freeway. The victim lived at the residence with his family.

No arrests were reported early Friday. A description of the shooter was not available. 

Police said the shooter might be in the victim's car, a silver 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer with license plate 8BRF172. The attacker is considered armed and dangerous. 

Several rounds pierced a gate and their residence, injuring the family dog, police said. Police rushed the dog to a veterinarian in Tustin, but the dog has extensive injuries and the family cannot afford surgery, said Cpl. Anthony Bertagna.
