‘It Looks Like Armageddon': Street Race Triggers 8-Car Crash

Eight cars were involved in a crash Wednesday night on a Reseda street, leaving behind a scene that looked like it belonged in an apocalyptic movie.

The West Valley LAPD said that the crash left two people in critical condition and involved a possible DUI driver on the 18700 block of Saticoy Street. Police initially responded to a two-car crash involving two drivers who were street racing.

Many of the damaged cars were parked on the street. A stunned Edward Ramirez came out of his residence to find a parked car under a minivan.

"It sounded like a train crashed into the front of my crib," said witness Edward Ramirez. "I just hear a bang, but it kept going.

"It's crazy. I don't understand how it got all over the place. It looks like Armageddon."

A hit-and-run driver attempted to leave the scene, but was taken into custody. Ramirez said the man appeared to be driving a BMW that was part of the initial crash.

"He fell out of the window like a fish," Ramirez said. "It's a Bimmer, but you can't really tell no more. It looks like a Honda, now.

"As soon as they started asking him questions, he started running."

An officer chased the man down on a nearby street.
