Skull-Masked Burglars Sought in NoHo Spree

Police Wednesday sought the public's help in identifying suspects wanted in connection with a series of burglaries in the North Hollywood area.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, there have been 26 residential burglaries since Oct. 15 in an area bounded by Coldwater Canyon Boulevard, Bellaire Avenue and Roscoe and Victory boulevards.

One of the burglaries occurred about 6 p.m. on Nov. 19 near the 7700 block of Bellaire Avenue, police said.

"Three suspects with one of them wearing a mask gained entrance into the residence and removed a safe," according to an LAPD statement. "They exited the residence and got into a newer model Nissan Rouge with 'Beverly Hills BMW' paper plates, which was driven by the fourth suspect."

Police say the suspects work in crews of two to four people and drive vehicles with paper plates.

"The suspects have targeted single-family residences between the hours of 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.," police said, adding that the culprits select homes with minimal to no lighting, enter by smashing rear sliding doors and once inside take jewelry, cash, designer handbags and firearms.

Three of the suspects were described as male, 5 feet 10 inches tall, between 160 and 180 pounds and wearing black hoodies and pants.

One wore a mask with a skull-face design and black shoes. Another wore blue running shoes and a third wore gray running shoes.

"The suspects have also been seen driving a white Kia sedan and a white Cadillac Escalade with paper plates," police said.

Anyone with information about the burglaries was urged to call (818) 754-8378 or (818) 754-8377 to speak with Detective Joseph Hampton.

After hours or on weekends, calls should be directed to (877) LAPD-24-7.

Anonymous tips can be submitted through Crime Stoppers by calling (800) 222-TIPS or lacrimestoppers.org.
